Summer time for me is the perfect time for the healthy glow makeup look. The weather here in LA has been super humid so my goal is to keep my makeup as light weight as possible. With that said I have been really enjoy drug store makeup a lot more, so todays summer makeup is all from the drug store.

1. NYX Honey Dew Me Up - this is an inexpensive primer that helps you instantly achieve a "natural" glow once foundation is applied.

2. Maybelline Fit Me Foundation - This is a light to medium coverage foundation that has a really great natural finish. This is a "my skin but better" foundation.


3. Loreal Brow Stylist Shape & Fill - this is an inexpensive dupe for the ABH Brow Definer.


4. Maybelline Master Chrome Highlight - The most amazing drug store highlight EVER!


5. Loreal Voluminous Lash Paradise - This is a dupe for the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara.


6. NYX Matte Bronzer - This is a super buttery & easy to blend out bronzer.


7. Maybelline Vivid Hot Lacquer - I love glossy lips during the summer, and this new gloss is amazing and long lasting.


During the summer months I tend to stay away from matte / liquid lipsticks simply because they tend to be drying and with the heat I don't find them very comfortable. Another thing I tend to stay away from (during the day) is eyeshadow, this is just because during the summer I spend a lot of time in the pool or at the beach. I try to keep it as minimal and natural looking as possible. These items have been my saving grace during these hot couple of months and I am very grateful.

1. I am obsessed with reading books. So much so, that my bookshelf is full and now I have 3 whole boxes filled with books. 

2. I cry whenever I see anyone else cry. I can’t hold it in. It’s like the moment I see someone sad, I immediately get sad and cry too.

3. I am in bed by 9pm on weeknights. I am 22 years old and really can’t stay up later than that unless I am socializing. Otherwise I am knocked out.

4. I have been dancing hula since I was 5 years old. I still to this day dance. Don’t get me wrong I have taken breaks from dancing but I always go back because my heart calls to it.

5. I love music so much. No matter what I am feeling, music seems to speak to my heart. The only music I am not a huge fan of is edm.

6. I am a Disneyland pass holder. I love pretty much anything Disney, it takes me back to my childhood.

7. Every summer I eat watermelon every single day. I don’t know why but I instantly start craving watermelon.

8. Singing is my first passion. As a little girl I would sing everything, but my favorite song to sing was “My heart will go on” by Celine Dion.

9. I have been visiting the island of Maui every year, twice a year since I was 7 years old. That's a lot of traveling lol

As the weather starts to heat up here in LA, all I can think about is summer and tanning! If you are like me and love being a bronze goddess during the sunny months than you know it's an addiction. I love going outside and soaking in the sun but sometimes there is just no time for that. Every now and again you need to go on an adventure. It doesn't always have to be a super long road trip, it can be a 30 min drive for coffee and an impromptu photoshoot. Which is exactly what I did with a few friends. Today I am going to share with you the cute coffee shop we found and the cutest mural on a staircase.

Alfred Coffee 
Silverlake location: 3337 Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90026 

 -This cute coffee shop has kombucha on tap, matcha green tea, chia seed pudding and so much more. This place is the go to place for coffee lovers, bloggers and hipsters. Cute floral wallpaper and delicious coffee, I mean what more could a blogger ask for. All of us tried something different and we all loved how delicious and adorable it was. The employees were all very sweet and the customers were all understanding if you just so happen to stand in the worst spot possible for a picture, which of course I did. The best part is that you won't be spending $12 on a cup of coffee, its reasonably priced and SO WORTH IT! 











Micheltorena Stairs

- Now this hidden gem is right across the street from Alfred Coffee and is the perfect place for an impromptu photoshoot with your coffee. This beautiful staircase is hidden in an alleyway almost but is super cute and easy to take photos at with your group of friends. We were lucky and there were no people there so we were able to take as many photos as we possible could.

 






These are the two places me and my friends went to on our Saturday adventure. We had so much fun that I felt the need to share these beauties with you darlings. The only downside is that parking is a pain in the behind, my friends and I carpooled and luckily found the perfect parking spot BUT they only had 30 min parking so we had to go back and check the parking meter. Other than that this is something that I encourage everyone to go do.

Every year like clock work award season arrives as does all the red carpet looks. Today I am going to share my favorites for both men and women. This will include hair, makeup, accessories and their over all look. Lets get started!

Favorites - Women

1. Adele - The color, the beading, the silhouette. She looked so beautiful and elegant in this dress. Her hair and makeup went flawlessly with her outfit.



2. Demi Lovato - She looked like a bronzed, beach goddess this year. Went a little risque with the mesh like material. Her hair had a very beach waves look. Her makeup was beautiful, bronzed glow to the gods is what I am naming it.



3. Lady Gaga - Now we all know Mama Monster likes to dress for the occasion. She dressed the part. She performed with Metallica and showed up looking like such a bad ass. Latex thigh high boots, a very risque top and some leather daisy dukes. Hair was up in a tousled pony tail with peachy pink highlights. Red glitter smokey eye and a bold red lip.



4. Rihanna - She always knocks it out of the park. She showed up in a two piece outfit. The skirt is layered and black while the top is orange and beaded. Her effortless hair and makeup really tied this outfit together.



5. Elle King - Elle looked like a fairy princess right out of a movie. From the flower crown to the dress. She looked so youthful and fresh. I especially loved her persona on the red carpet.



6. Maren Morris - This dress to me is very youthful, edgy and fun. I love the slits on both sides and the lace detailing. Paired with her effortless beach waves and simple makeup. The color of her dress compliments her complexion and the golden tones in her hair.




Favorites - Men 


7. Nick Jonas - He showed up in a studded jacket, black pants and what looks like black boots. Nick Jonas looks like a rocker bad ass and I was blown away with how well he looked.




8. Tim McGraw - This southern gentleman showed up looking very handsome and put together. He wore a classic black suit, a white shirt with the top unbuttoned, a red pocket square to match his lovely wife's dress, his black stetson hat and black cowboy boots.



9. Jason Derulo - This guy brought all the swag to this years Grammy's. He wore a classic suit, white shirt, black bow tie, fur coat and loafers. He definitely looked like the cool kid in school with his shades and big smile. This look reminds me of old school Diddy.
 


10. James Corden - Of course I had to mention the lovely host of this years Grammys. James wore a a silver/champagne jacket with his suit. He was a fabulous host that kept people laughing and entertained the whole time.




There you have it, my favorite looks form this years Grammy's Red Carpet. There were many more that I thought looked great and some not so great but these are the ones that stood out to me. Which red carpet look did you like best ?  Let me know in the comments.
